I wrote in a much earlier post that the way Trump is governing the USA sidesteps all the checks and balances that the Constitution put in to avoid the dictatorial way he is running the country.

I also suggested that he will find ways to circumvent the poll results come the mid – terms.  The signs are now all there to see, not exactly what he will do, but that he will take one or more of a number of options open to him.

There is a very good chance that he will use ICE and perhaps the FBI and National Guard to make the polling exceptionally fraught for many people, almost all of whom will have a perfect right to vote.  The issue for Trump is that they will vote the wrong way.  It will certainly be uncomfortable for a lot of Democrat voting citizens.

There is a possibility that he will declare a national emergency and even suspend the elections at the last minute.  He has a few choice levers in his toolbox for this option.  He can escalate the threat from the war with Iran for a start.  He has caused what a lot of people think are problems for himself with this war, but I do not necessarily see it as problems, but solutions to complaints about his catalogue of anti-democratic actions as president.  If he ramps up the war raving about nuclear free Iran and terrorist activity and attacks on the world economy – all points he has claimed to have solved at some point in the last 6 months or so, he can declare a National Emergency and cancel the unwelcome and unwanted elections.  He did say when he was re-elected that Americans should never need to go to the polls again.

He is also turning his attention to Cuba and, despite having over the years impoverished the country (USA not just Trump) he now is saying that they are attacking US democracy.  A great point, always say your enemies are guilty of what you are actually doing if you want to tighten up on any dissent.  Trump has a lot of dissent to tighten up on.

The groundwork for his attack on democracy was laid in the DOJ where he has Trump friendly judges and immunity from anything he does as president.  In hi view everything he does is as President and therefore he is immune from all prosecution.

Watch out USA because you will find yourself in the grip of a foul-smelling Florida based Mafia gang if you do not sort out what powers you still have, you won’t have them much longer.
